Work begins Monday (February 10) on a new trail that will connect the Park Avenue Community in the northern part of Hot Springs to the phenomenally popular Northwoods Trail System. The project is a $104,000 grant from the Walton Family Foundation at the recommendation of Steuart Walton and Tom Walton.
The National Park Service has published a regulation allowing the park superintendent to permit bicycles on a 0.65-mile trail connection within the park. This new trail will connect hikers and bicyclists with an extensive network of recreational trails in the City of Hot Springs’ neighboring park.
An impressive new bike park that includes a skills section and a jump section will open at the Cedar Glades Trailhead of the Northwoods Trail System on Saturday, November 16, as part of the Güdrun three-day mountain bike festival in Hot Springs.
