If you’re looking for one of the most diverse mountain bike destinations in the South, the Northwoods Trail System in Hot Springs, Arkansas deserves a spot at the top of your list. In this Trail Overview, we’re taking you through a trail network that blends flow, technical riding, and endless progression into one incredible riding experience.
With well over 30 miles of singletrack—and even more on the way—Northwoods offers something for every rider. You’ll find everything from beginner-friendly green trails to fast jump lines, chunky rock gardens, and technical descents, all with a design philosophy that carries a strong IMBA influence. The result is a trail system that feels natural, sustainable, and incredibly fun to ride, no matter your skill level.
One of the things we loved most is how easy it is to access the trails. Multiple trailheads and parking areas make it simple to start your ride from different locations, and each offers excellent amenities to help make your day on the bike even better. Pair that with a downtown that’s just minutes away, and you’ve got an ideal destination for a weekend getaway or even a multi-day mountain bike vacation.
Hot Springs has fully embraced mountain biking, and the community support shows. From places to stay and great restaurants to post-ride entertainment, this town makes it easy to extend your adventure long after the ride is over.
A huge shoutout goes to Traci Berry and her incredible team, who do an outstanding job maintaining and improving this trail system. Their hard work is evident around every corner, and it’s a big reason Northwoods continues to be one of the premier riding destinations in the region. We had an absolute blast exploring Northwoods during our latest Drew Crew Adventure, and we can’t wait to come back for more.
